The average amount of lessons depends on how quick the learner picks it up , the more mature person could take a little longer. The DSA say it should be around 45hrs of training with an instructor and as much extra practice as you can in your private vehicle.
I can offer 1 hour for people who have busy schedules, 1.5hrs for people who live further away and 2hrs for people who feel they need to do it quicker for different reasons. Ie, job, school runs moving house etc.
Each week, you have an aim and an objective to reach on the lesson. Sometimes it is not possible to reach the objective if circumstances arise that need our attention more.
Each week you will possibly pick up your own style and habits and these are the things we will try to stop immediately before they are hard to break. What you do right one week may not be right the next week, a bit like 2 steps forward and one back. You will not see the whole picture until it all falls in line towards the end.
If you can imagine a Jig-saw, we start building the outside edges for the structure and only when we do bit by bit subjects we will be able to see the better and fuller picture. It takes time and patience, and it is very rewarding to see each pupils progress. I measure your progress by what you do each week, that you couldn’t do the previous week, and everything is recorded on your weekly record card.
